Bargains info....

More bargains in store
By FARIDAH BEGUM and AUSTIN CAMOENS

Check out the Mutiara Damansara Commercial Centre and Plaza Pelangi for their mega sale bargains.
WITH just three weeks left of the Malaysia Mega Sale Carnival, shopping centres nationwide are pulling out all the stops in their efforts to entice customers to spend, spend, spend – at their premises, naturally.
In Selangor, The Curve, Ikano Power Centre and e@Curve, all part of the Mutiara Damansara Commercial Centre (MDCC), have each drawn up their promotions, which include better discounts and exclusive free gifts – subject to terms and conditions, of course.
Adele D. Flores, centre manager of the Curve, said: "We are confident that shoppers will be pleased with the Malaysian Mega Sale Carnival at MDCC as there will be a wider range of offerings due to the collaboration among all three retail centres. This strategic alliance showcases our commitment to ensure that our target audience is able to shop together within the same vicinity to fulfil their shopping needs

Cool and comfortable: The Curve offers airy and great ambience

"We are certainly excited to partner the Curve and e@Curve as shoppers will be able to enjoy complementary offerings from all these malls," added Elena Lee, Marketing & Leasing manager at Ikano Power Centre. "We believe that the sale will provide shoppers with even greater value for their purchases."

Sprawled as they are over a large area, the three shopping centres will certainly provide a lot of ground for even the most determined shopper to cover. However, the variety of goods and services on offer will make the exercise worthwhile, and when the going gets tiring, there are lots of places in which to unwind.

As for what interesting bargains there are to be had, for starters, customers of Clarins may be happy to note that their preferred cosmetic brand is giving a 50% discount on facial treatments. The Body Shop, meanwhile, is offering its face wash range for only RM1 with every purchase of toner and moisturiser.

Bargains galore: Flea markets are a popular stop at The Curve on weekends.

New customers of New York Skin Solutions, aged 19 and above, will receive a free customised facial session and a set of facial kits.

And those who love fashion will surely enjoy shopping at The Curve's outlets, Nichii Fashion City and Kitschen, which will have discounts of up to 70%, and at Debenhams, where discounts of up to 50% are being offered. Liz Claiborne is also offering discounts of up to 50% storewide.

Shoppers on the lookout for home decor items should check out Bruno Menzi at The Curve, as there will be discounts of up to 40% + 5% on selected items. A 50% discount will also be given on new sets of slip covers when shoppers purchase any slip cover units. Bruno Menzi will also give a free exclusive table lamp for purchases of RM10,000 and above.

From now till Aug 31, all shoppers at The Curve who spend RM150 and above in a single receipt within a day will receive a stamp. The top three shoppers who collect the most number of stamps will win Ogawa merchandise comprising an Ogawa Smart10 Massage Chair worth RM10,699 (first); an Ogawa Foot Massager CHI Master worth RM3,399 (second); and an Ogawa Enviro Vacuum Cleaner worth RM1,999 (third).

Ikano Power Centre is also collaborating with MasterCard to reward its shoppers with exciting prizes. MasterCard members who spend RM2,500 and above will be able to redeem RM12,500 worth of vouchers weekly simply by texting their credit card number to MasterCard. Additionally, shoppers who spend between RM200 and RM350 will be able to redeem a wrist rest and those who spend above RM350 will receive a versatile toothbrush or a multi-purpose holder for free.

Grab the bags: Shopping is always best depicted by shopping bags, like this mega sale promotional icon

There is also a home fair until Aug 23 to cater for the coming festivities.

At e@Curve, shoppers who spend RM50 at the Manhattan Fish Market will get a chance to win RM2mil worth of prizes in the I Love Manhattan Contest until August 31.

S'Pro Hairdressing is offering a 40% discount on hair colouring and Elianto customers who spend RM80 and above in a single receipt until Aug 31 can redeem a free Elianto teddy bear worth RM19.

Down south, outlets in Plaza Pelangi in Johor Baru are offering discounts of up to 70% on numerous items including bedding, clothes, toys, handbags and shoes.

Pelangi Management Services Advertising and Promotions assistant-manager Nur Adilah Nuha Abdullah said that almost all retail outlets within the shopping mall are taking part in this year's sale carnival.

In addition, she said, a special Merdeka Bargain Sale will be held to commemorate Malaysia's 52nd year of independence.

"Besides the Merdeka Sale, we will also be holding the Pelangi Travel Fair to promote domestic tourism," said Nur Adilah.

"We need to show Malaysians that there are many interesting places they can visit in the country and this fair is a great way of doing it."

On Aug 21, a special Ramadhan promotion in conjunction with the Hari Raya celebrations will be held, and Metrojaya will set up booths on the ground floor to sell festive goodies, she added.

Shopping : Neccessaries Vs Luxuries

Hi All,

Everywhere we are seeing the sign Mega Sales at the shopping complexes, megamalls etc. We even listen the ads thru radio and televisions... how on earth women like us not to jump to excitement from all these advertisements.. We become so excited to rush to the nearest mall to see how cheap or how good is the stuff at the malls this time round...

Sometimes, we don't even want or need the stuff but because it is cheaps or the price is lower from usual we are tempted to buy the stuffs..My personal views is that if we have excess money and it is really and worth buying why not, just buy and add to your collections hahhahah . However, my general rule is that the stuff is something practical and i sure wil use like an addition to my collection of handbags, perfume or shoes for that matter. Not something like a frame picture or wall picture which I am not sure whether it is suitable or not....

ok enough about this ...let's hear what's your view on this matter.....cheers
